How to launch your site on Network Solutions
Edited

If your domain is registered with Network Solutions, you can follow the directions below to launch your BentoBox site on your domain. If your site is hosted with a different registrar, find directions for launching your site here.

1. Sign in to manage your account

Click on “Manage Account” at the top right corner of the screen.

On the next page, you may prompted to purchase a domain add-on. This is unnecessary. Click the tiny “No Thanks, Continue” link.

You will land on the Advanced DNS page.

3. Update the A Record

The first setting to update is the IP Address (A Records) file, or more simply the “A record.” A records, also known as host records, point your domain name an IP address. We will set up the main A record to BentoBox’s IP address so that when users enter your URL they are pointed to the BentoBox site on our server. Don’t worry, visitors won’t see “getbento” in the URL.

Scroll down to the IP Address (A Records) section and click the “Edit A Records” button.

You will land on the page that lists all of your site’s existing A records. If there is an existing A record with “@“ for its Host value, update the IP address to 151.101.1.75

Look for another A record with the host value “www” (there may or may not be one, depending on how your DNS was previously set up). If you do see one, check the box on the right hand side of the row to delete it.

Set the “TTL” value for each of the items to 3600. Click the blue “Continue” button to save the A record.

You will be prompted to confirm your changes. Review the changes then click the blue “Save Changes” button. You will be taken back to the Advanced DNS page.

4. Update the CName Record

The next record to update is the Host Aliases (CNAME Records) file. CName records point a subdomain to an existing A record so that visitors get pointed to the right place on your website.

Scroll down to the Host Aliases (CNAME Records) section and click the “Edit CNAME Records” button. You will land on a page that lists all of your site’s existing CNAME records.

If there is an existing CName record with “www” for the Alias value, enter “app.getbento.com” in the Other Host field and click the circle to select it. If there isn’t an existing CName records with “www” for the host value, just enter “www” in the Alias field and then enter “fast.getbento.com” in the Other Host field and click the circle to select it. Set the “TTL” value to 3600.

Click the blue “Continue” button to save the CNAME.

You will be prompted to confirm your changes. Review the changes then click the blue “Save Changes” button. You will be taken back to the Advanced DNS page.

5. You’re done!

Now you just need to wait. Once the changes propagate (usually within one hour), your BentoBox site will be live on your domain!
