The Relationship between Menus, Items, and Modifiers within Online Ordering
Edited

Menus for BentoBox's Online Ordering are attached to locations — one or multiple — and then items are attached to menus. Here is what the hierarchy looks like:

Location

↳ Menu 1

↳ Item a

          ↳ Modifier a

          ↳ Modifier b

↳ Item b

          ↳ Modifier c

          ↳ Modifier d

↳ Menu 2

↳ Item c

          ↳ Modifier e

          ↳ Modifier f

↳ Item d

          ↳ Modifier g

          ↳ Modifier h

↳ Menu 3

↳ Item e

          ↳ Modifier i

          ↳ Modifier j

↳ Item f

          ↳ Modifier k

          ↳ Modifier l

With this relationship, you can re-use existing menus, items, and modifiers and share them across many locations. Lastly, while each location can have many menus, only one menu is available and visible at a time. This is done using a concept called Menu Hours. This means that when you set menu hours for two menus on the same day, hours for each menu cannot overlap.
