Overview

The Online Ordering feature in the POS system is an integrated system that helps restaurants manage customer orders efficiently. This guide walks you through how to access, view, process, and cancel orders, along with key features like order statuses, search tools, and support integration.


1. Accessing Online Ordering

  • Navigate to the Online Ordering via the hamburger navigation on the top left of the POS. 

  • Access is limited to users with the "Manage Online Orders" permission in the Dashboard.

  • You’ll land on the “Today” tab, showing orders scheduled for preparation that day.

  • Use the tabs to toggle between:

    • Today: Orders for the current day.

    • Tomorrow: Orders for the next day.

    • Future: Orders placed but not yet started.


2. Searching & Sorting Orders

  • Use the magnifying glass to search by customer name.

  • Tap the X to cancel the search and collapse the magnifying glass.

  • Use the filter icon to sort orders by:

    • Newest first

    • Prepare time


3. Understanding Order Statuses

Each order moves through the following stages:

  • Not Started: Order placed but not yet processed.

  • Started: Order is actively being prepared.

  • Overdue: Scheduled time has passed, and the order is not yet complete.

  • Ready: Order is ready for pickup or delivery.

These statuses apply to Today, Tomorrow, and Future orders.


4. Processing & Cancelling Orders

Starting an Order

  • Select an order from Not Started.

  • Tap Start to begin preparation.

Marking as Ready

  • Once preparation is complete, tap Ready.

  • The order will move to the Ready section for pickup or delivery.

Cancelling an Order

  • Open the order details.

  • Tap Cancel to process a refund automatically.

  • The order will move to the Canceled section.


5. Dashboard Integration

  • Online Ordering is fully synced with the Dashboard.

  • Changes to prepare-by dates, order numbers, and statuses in the Dashboard will reflect in the POS.

Q: How do I find a specific order?
A:
Use the magnifying glass to search by customer name.

Q: What does "Overdue" mean?
A:
The order should have been completed, but wasn’t before its scheduled time.

Q: Can I change an order’s status after it’s marked “Ready”?
A:
No, once an order is marked as Ready, it cannot be moved to another status.

Q: Does Online Ordering sync with the Dashboard?
A:
Yes, status updates and order details will reflect changes made in the Dashboard.

Q: What happens when I cancel an order?
A:
A refund is automatically processed, and the order moves to the Canceled section.

Q: Who can access Online Ordering in the POS?
A:

Q: What does the “Overdue” tag indicate?
