Here are step-by-step instructions to complete self-setup for “Bento Ordering,” BentoBox’s online ordering solution.
First, log in to BentoBox by going to your getbento URL followed by /bentobox
For example: restaurant.getbento.com/bentobox
Step 1: Familiarize yourself with the Live Orders screen.
Click into “Online Ordering” within the STORE section of your main dashboard. Then click on “Live Orders.”
In this video, you will learn how to use the Live Orders page of Bento Ordering.
Step 2: Create items for Bento Ordering.
Next, it's time to add your items. In this video, you will learn how to add new items, their descriptions, add-ons, modifiers, and other details.
Before you watch, it’s important to understand the relationship between items, menus, and locations. When guests place an order for any given location, they first must select their fulfillment date, time, and method (i.e. pickup today at 5PM). Based on that selection, we show the one menu that’s applicable for that fulfillment method and timing. So as you create menus, remember that your menus cannot overlap. If you want to have brunch and lunch available at the same time, all of those items will need to be available in one menu for the hours of overlap. For example, you could have breakfast available from 8AM to 10AM, brunch for 10AM to noon, and then lunch only for noon to 2PM.
The flow that you will move through in this self-setup fee are:
- Creating an item library to cover every item across all of your menus.
- Setting up menus to cover your offerings across all weeks.
- Adding items to each menu.
- Associate menu hours for your location(s).
Step 3: Now that you’ve added your items, create your menus.
In order to feature your items, they need to be added to a menu.
In this video, you will learn how to add a new menu to Bento Ordering and edit existing menus.
Step 4: Attach Items to your Menus
Menus for online ordering allow you to organize items into sections for ease of use.
In this video, you’ll learn how to add a new section or to update an existing menu section.
Step 5: Add Menu Hours
The hours for your menu live on the location level. Here we will learn how to edit the location page and how to select a menu and add your hours and scheduled closures.
Step 6: Add Location Settings
The location page has settings that may provide your guests with information about the online ordering location.
In this video, you will learn how to add a location description, pickup instructions, how to enable tipping, the ability to set delivery zones, and where to add additional fees and checkout modifiers.
Once these steps are complete, contact email@example.com. We will then check your settings and help you to set it live on your website.
